Pass a job on

Every workshop turns work away — wrong process, too big, booked out until March. Right now that enquiry just dies. The job board lets you hand it to another maker instead, and pick up the ones they can't take.

How it will work

1. The buyer decides first. When they send a brief they can tick "if this maker can't take it, let them pass it to another maker near me". Nothing can be passed on without that tick.
2. You click "can't take this". It's a button in the brief email — no login, no form to fill in.
3. The job appears here, not the person. Process, material, size, quantity, area, deadline, budget if they gave one. No name, no email address, no file. Visible to listed makers only.
4. Another maker claims it. The buyer gets one email: the first maker couldn't take it, this one can, here is their listing. The buyer chooses whether to reply. Their details are never handed to anyone they didn't pick.
5. You see who took it. Passing work on is visible, so it comes back to you.

What it costs

Nothing. There is no fee for passing a job on, no fee for taking one, and MakerNear takes no cut of the work that comes out of it — the same as every other enquiry on the site.

Why it isn't open yet

Two reasons, said plainly. The buyer opt-in has to exist before a single job can be passed on, and a board with nothing on it is worse than no board. It opens once enough workshops are listed for jobs to actually move.
